Mavis is a 2-year-old, spayed female Shepherd mix weighing about 55 pounds. She's a gentle and easygoing sweetheart who's ready to bring calm, love, and quiet joy into your home. Mavis has a low-to-moderate energy level and a naturally calm demeanor. She enjoys daily walks and is happy to relax by your side afterward, preferring to lounge on the cool floor.
Mavis absolutely loves other dogs and thrives in a social environment. She currently lives with dogs of various sizes and gets along beautifully with all of them. She's respectful, reads social cues well, and knows when to disengage if another dog isn't interested in playing. On leash, Mavis walks close by your side and is easily redirected. She politely avoids sewer grates and drainage holes and may startle if approached suddenly from behind, so a calm, predictable environment will help her feel her best. Mavis is fully house-trained, does well in a crate, and has great manners when left alone. She is not destructive and coexists peacefully with other dogs. She doesn't show food aggression but definitely enjoys treats! Mavis has been wonderful with children, including an 8-year-old. She can be a bit shy with new people at first but warms up quickly and enjoys affection. She hasn't been tested with cats, but a cat-free home would likely be best. Mavis is smart and knows "sit." She's eager to continue learning and loves to show off her skills for treats.
Ideal Home
Mavis would do well in a variety of homes, whether with other dogs or as a solo companion, as long as she has someone who will give her the patience and affection she deserves. A home where she can feel secure, loved, and part of the family is ideal. She would do best in a home without cats.
