Tommy

Tommy is a 10-month-old, approximately 27 lb male Terrier mix with a heart full of love to give! He was born at the shelter after his pregnant mother was rescued. Tommy is described as docile, affectionate, playful, and loving, though he is still learning to trust new people and can be a little shy and nervous. He absolutely loves to run and play with his dog friends, so he would likely enjoy an active home. Tommy is expected to grow to about 37 lbs.

Ideal Home

Tommy would thrive in a home with families who have an open conscience about the needs of rescued animals and who have experience with dog behavior and training. A high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are a must, as he is not yet house-trained and may have an adjustment period in a new home.

Ongoing Health

Tommy has a comprehensive health protocol that includes: spay/neuter certificate, 2 DHPPI vaccinations, rabies vaccination, Bordetella vaccination, deworming, microchip, 4DX test and certificate, negative heartworm test certificate, and monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. He also comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

Tommy is not house-trained and will need consistent training and patience. It's important to understand that rescue animals may have experienced trauma and require time and understanding to decompress and integrate into a new environment.

Transporation

Tommy is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip if adopted. Transport fees are an additional $400.00 and are paid by the adopter prior to departure. Delivery will be to the adopter's home address.
