Duce

Duce is an absolute love bug and in every sense the perfect dog! He's 1 year old and weighs 12lbs, rescued from the Southwest. Duce LOVES pets and will gently ask for more if you stop. He loves to chase and fetch whatever object comes his way - a stick, a ball, another dog, pigeons, or his own tail. He is fully house-trained and patiently waits to go outside in the morning. He sleeps peacefully through the night and will come up to you in the morning when he sees you start to stir. He is playful and energetic; he needs regular activity, but settles down when it's time to rest. He loves to run with other dogs in the park. He plays fetch, and is also happy pawing around a ball on his own. He rarely barks, especially for a terrier, and only when he senses a threat. He is well behaved around children; the other day he let a toddler grab his head and kiss him repeatedly without batting an eye.

Ideal Home

Duce is looking for an active home where he can get plenty of exercise. He's great with kids and enjoys playing with other dogs.

Training & Support

Duce can be a little excitable and sometimes puts his paws up to greet, but he responds well to correction and we have already seen improvement. He will need training with basic commands and is still getting used to the leash. He needs work on self-soothing when left alone, but we think that will improve as he gets more comfortable in his new environment.
