Summer Smiles is a German Shepherd mix, approximately 4 years old and weighing about 45 lbs. She's a social butterfly and a total cheerleader, guaranteed to brighten your day! Summer is incredibly friendly, loves everyone she meets, and her connections are instantaneous. She's a go-with-the-flow girl who's happy wherever she is. Her goofy and friendly personality is impossible to resist!
Ideal Home
Summer is very dog-friendly and would do great in a home with another dog who enjoys playtime and companionship. She also showed respect towards the resident cat and might be comfortable in a home with feline friends, pending a sleepover. An ideal home would have a backyard for her to zoom, play, and sunbathe, but she could also thrive in an apartment or condo. She loves being around people and would be a fantastic companion for those who enjoy hosting or spending time with friends and family. Summer also adores children and was quick to bond with a 7-year-old, making her a potential best friend for any kiddo.
Ongoing Health
Summer is up-to-date on all vetting, which includes DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12-month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, and a microchip with free lifetime registration.
Training & Support
Summer is a treat-motivated learner who already knows how to sit on command. She walks well on a leash and is crate and potty trained. She's ready for adventures like hikes, park visits, or beach trips!

Transporation
Summer is located in Houston, Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system. Transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada. Canadian adopters can pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT. A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
