Meet Santana!
Santana is a spirited five-year-old American Pitbull Terrier with a beautiful blue fawn coat and bright eyes that hint at a joyful, affectionate companion ready for his next chapter. He’s a loving boy who lights up around people, greeting everyone with adorable happy foot taps and a flurry of kisses. Weighing about 65 pounds, he has a medium energy spirit, balancing playful bursts with cozy companionship. His favorite game involves chasing a small rubber tire in gleeful circles. Santana knows basic commands like "sit" and "stay," comes when called, and enjoys car rides, always eager to be by your side. He is crate-trained and feels most comfortable relaxing in his crate when left alone, as he can become destructive and curious with food if given too much freedom, especially if snacks are within reach.
Ideal Home
Santana would thrive in a loving home where he is the only dog. He is very good with people and is affectionate, social, and gentle with both adults and children. Due to his natural prey drive, a home without small animals is recommended. A fenced yard will help him enjoy safe, happy playtime.
Ongoing Health
Santana needs to have a broken upper canine tooth extracted and a small mole above his eye evaluated by a veterinarian. His adoption will require that he be neutered by his new family.
Training & Support
Santana can become destructive and curious with food if given too much freedom, especially if snacks are within reach. He requires careful separation from other dogs, especially male dogs, to help him feel secure. While he can be selective with dogs, with proper introductions and thoughtful management, he has shown he can do better with some female dogs. He benefits from positive reinforcement training to build calm, confident interactions. His new family should understand large, strong companions and be able to provide structure, supervision, and consistency.
