Tanuki

Meet Tanuki, a distinguished gentleman of approximately 12-14 years and weighing in at a solid 69 lbs. He's a wonderfully polite boy who is great with kids and other dogs. Tanuki's journey began when he was surrendered because he was thought to be unwilling to move. However, it was discovered he was actually dealing with lumbar spondylosis, arthritis, and heartworm disease. We brought him into rescue, successfully treated his heartworms, and started him on a pain management plan.

Tanuki has blossomed beautifully in our care! He's now happy, comfortable, and has a renewed zest for life. He’s eager to soak up all the love he can get and happily returns it in double measure. He's incredibly polite with other dogs and we suspect he'd be just as easygoing with cats. Two things that bring him immense joy are splashing in a pool and a good game of fetch!

Tanuki has been treated for heartworm disease and is on pain management for lumbar spondylosis and arthritis.

Training & Support

Tanuki is house-trained and knows basic commands. His positive transformation shows his capacity for learning and enjoying life to the fullest.

Tanuki is currently being fostered in Brooklyn, NY. He is available for local or out-of-state adoption, provided the adopter can travel to meet him.
