Meet Enzo... a distinguished gentleman who's ready to leave his past behind and start the best chapter of his life. At around seven years old, Enzo has perfected the art of being an easygoing, loyal companion. Weighing about 70 pounds, he's just a little underweight, but he's steadily gaining back both his healthy physique and his confidence. When Enzo first arrived after being found as a stray, it was clear life hadn't been kind to him. His coat was thin and in rough shape, likely the result of spending far too long fending for himself. After just one month in foster care, his beautiful black-and-tan coat is already filling in, and every day he looks a little healthier and a little happier. We can only imagine how long he went without the love and care every dog deserves. Despite whatever hardships he endured, Enzo hasn't let them define him. He's incredibly friendly, loves meeting people, and greets life with optimism that's impossible not to admire. He walks beautifully on a leash, rides calmly in the car, is both housebroken and crate trained, and has the kind of easy manners that make him a joy to have around. Whether you're heading out for an afternoon adventure or simply relaxing at home, Enzo is content just being by your side. Enzo also gets along well with other dogs and would be happy as either your one-and-only or as part of a canine family. He hasn't been cat tested, so we aren't sure how he'd do with feline friends. We think he'd do best with older children who can appreciate a gentle, respectful companion. Senior dogs have a special way of loving. They're past the puppy antics, grateful for every kind word, and happiest simply knowing they belong. Enzo has likely spent too much of his life wondering where his next meal or safe place to sleep would come from. Now all he needs is someone willing to show him what it feels like to truly be home. If you're looking for a faithful friend who will greet you with gentle eyes, companionship, and unwavering devotion, Enzo is waiting to prove that the best dogs don't always have the easiest beginnings—but they can still have the happiest endings. Enzo qualifies for our Seniors FUREVER program, with two available options: If your heart has a special place for the seniors, you can adopt a senior dog for the regular adoption fee of $400, and this becomes a perpetual fee. You can adopt another senior dog at any time from us in the future at NO CHARGE. If you aren't sure about your future adoption capacity, you may adopt your senior dog for a reduced adoption fee of $250.
