Meet Norman!

Norman is a wonderfully affectionate and loyal 4.5-year-old Labrador Retriever/American Pitbull Terrier mix who weighs about 73 pounds. He's a certified cuddle bug with a goofy personality and charming tortilla chip-shaped ears that will melt your heart. Affectionately nicknamed the "velvet hippo," Norman is a gentle soul who adores comfy dog beds, quality time with his people, and is a master of the "aren't I adorable?" grin. He enjoys walks, training games, and belly rubs, and truly shines when given love and a consistent routine. He's happy as long as he has someone to nap near and a little mental stimulation each day.

Ideal Home

Norman would thrive in a calm, structured environment with a secure, fenced yard. He does best without small children in the home. He is compatible with older, respectful children and some dogs, provided slow introductions are made.

Ongoing Health

Norman is up-to-date on all vaccinations and is neutered.

Training & Support

Norman is crate-trained, house-trained, and knows commands such as "sit," "stay," "down," and "place." He is currently working on mastering "leave it." He responds very well to positive reinforcement and consistency. His adoption includes four professional training sessions to support a smooth transition, as well as a full month of behavioral guidance from a consultant. Norman can be selective with dogs and new people and has shown reactivity in certain situations outside the home. Continued obedience training and positive reinforcement will help him stay confident and successful on walks. While Norman has had a bite incident in a specific circumstance, those familiar with him describe it as an accident, not a reflection of his true nature.
