*HARPY CRYPTID -- BLIND

Meet Harpy! This 7 lb bundle of chiweenie charm is a legend in the making. He was once thought to be around 4 years old, but it turns out this little guy is likely only 1-2 years old and just went through a "rough chapter." Harpy has significant vision impairment but is not fully blind, relying more on his excellent "vibes" to navigate the world. He's a bit spicy during vet visits, especially when thermometers are involved, but who can blame him?

Harpy was previously in a busy home with lots of kids and animals, which was a bit overwhelming for him. Now, he's in a foster home in Sacramento where he's truly shining! He loves humans, visitors, dogs, and cats. Harpy is obsessed with toys and wants to be included in everything. He absolutely loves walks and car rides, though he does prefer to be on a lap during them. Mealtimes are a highlight for Harpy, and he's pee pad trained and also goes outside, though accidents can happen if he's denied access. He communicates with his own special brand of "chiweenie commentary," sleeps burrowed under blankets, and has a knack for finding clean laundry to nap in.

Ideal Home

Harpy would do best in a home with older, calm children who can give him space to decompress and warm up. He also gets along well with other dogs and cats.

Ongoing Health

Harpy has corneal edema, which is not currently painful and does not require any treatment.

Training & Support

Harpy is pee pad trained and goes outside, but he may have accidents if access is restricted. He has shown no signs of aggression since returning to his foster home, indicating any past behavioral issues have been resolved.
