Camilla was rescued from a high-kill shelter with her four puppies. Her babies have all found their forever homes, and now it's Camilla's turn to find her perfect match! She is an affectionate girl who enjoys being handled. Camilla is accustomed to being the "alpha female" and thrives in a home where she can be the queen of her castle. She's a smart cookie who enjoys her zoomies outside, loves a good treat (even if she's a little picky sometimes!), and finds great joy in shredding fluffy blankets. Camilla is also a big fan of head scratches, ear rubs, and leaning into your personal space for affection. She's an indoor girl who is nearly 100% potty trained and would likely do wonderfully with a doggy door. She also enjoys car rides and walks, and with some consistent leash training, she'll be a pro in no time!
Ideal Home
Camilla would do best in a home where she can be the only dog. She has a history of being protective and may need slow introductions to other dogs, if any. She would also prefer a female companion to bond with and would do well with older children. She is not a fan of cats and will chase them out of the yard.
Ongoing Health
Camilla is a sensitive girl and dislikes being touched on her rear end, which may be due to past trauma. While she enjoys back scratches, it's best to avoid this area. She is also sensitive to temperature fluctuations due to her short hair and lack of body fat, preferring to be indoors where she can control her environment with air conditioning or heat.
Training & Support
Camilla can be a great watchdog, alerting you to visitors with a loud bark. While she loves human contact, she doesn't give "kisses" but shows affection through hugs and leaning. Consistency with leash training will help her master not pulling on the leash.
