Meet Hershey, a sweet 3.5-year-old, 42-pound Pit Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix with a heart as warm as her name! Hershey was found wandering the streets of Houston and was rescued by a loving foster. Since then, she has blossomed into a loyal, affectionate, and easygoing companion who is ready to find her forever home. Hershey is a low-rider cuddle bug who absolutely adores her people and is happiest when she's curled up next to you on the couch or following you from room to room. She bonds deeply with her humans and thrives in a home where she can be part of the family's daily life.
Ideal Home
Hershey is looking for a stable, loving home where she can continue to thrive and feel safe. She has had positive experiences with children, including a gentle 9-year-old boy, and would do well in a home with respectful kids. Hershey has a bouncy play style and may put her front paws on another dog to initiate play. Because of this, she would do best either as the only pet, where she can soak up all the love, or with a calm, tolerant dog who won't mind her enthusiastic approach. We don't have any history with cats, so slow, supervised introductions or a cat-free home would be best for now. Loud noises like fireworks and thunderstorms can spook her, so a calm, secure environment during those moments is important.
Ongoing Health
Hershey is a healthy girl and has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Hershey is fully housebroken and does well in her crate. She is great on a leash, walks calmly, and loves getting out to sniff and explore the neighborhood. She enjoys regular walks and time outside.
