Cashew

Cashew is a 10-month-old female mixed breed with a sensitive soul who needs a patient and understanding owner. She's believed to be a Border Collie/Lab mix and is still adjusting to shelter life after living with her previous owner for most of her life. While she shows no signs of aggression, she can become overwhelmed and shut down, so a calm and trustworthy environment is key. She's shown progress in just a few days and is starting to reveal her snuggly and playful nature. Cashew previously lived with another dog and did very well, enjoying playtime. She may thrive with a canine companion in her new home, and we always recommend a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs.

Ideal Home

Cashew would do best with an experienced owner who has worked with nervous dogs before. A patient and loving home where she can build trust and feel secure is essential. She may benefit from having another dog in the home to help her settle in and feel more comfortable.

Ongoing Health

Cashew has started her core vaccinations and is ready to go to her new home.

Training & Support

Cashew knows commands such as "sit," "kennel," and "bed." She is not yet housebroken and will need continued training in her new home. It's important to use gentle training methods to avoid scaring her, as harshness could set back her progress.
