Betty

Meet Betty, a sweet, gentle soul who is cautiously whimsical. Betty is a Labrador Retriever mix who is ready to steal your heart! She takes a little bit of time to warm up to new people, but once she trusts you, she becomes your loyal, loving shadow. One of her most endearing quirks is her newfound interest in toys - she loves to quietly carry them through the house at night like a "secretive museum curator who doesn't want an audience." Betty is completely potty trained and has never barked or jumped in her foster home. She absolutely loves other dogs and would thrive with a calmer adult or senior dog companion who enjoys hanging out without rough play. Her favorite activities include napping in her dog bed, exploring the backyard, using her snuffle mat, and sniffing around. Despite being a bit nervous, she is incredibly gentle and tolerant of grooming and vet care.

Ideal Home

Betty is looking for a patient and kind family who will give her some space to decompress initially. She appreciates a predictable, loving environment where she can safely explore using her excellent nose. She does experience a little whining and pacing when left alone, but her overall easygoing nature makes her an absolute gem.

Ongoing Health

Betty has some vision impairment.

Training & Support

Betty is still getting used to walking on a leash and can be a bit nervous, sometimes looking for places to hide, so a patient human willing to help her build confidence is key!
