Maui

Maui is a handsome, loyal, and affectionate Rottweiler mix who is ready to find his forever home! He's had a tough start in life, spending six months in a stressful shelter environment where he unfortunately contracted heartworms. Thankfully, he was rescued and has since undergone extensive treatment, costing $1800, and is now heartworm-free and completely healthy. He's also neutered and up-to-date on all his vaccinations. Maui enjoys walks, observing farm animals like chickens, and has even gotten along well with the indoor cats in his foster home. While he has a natural instinct to chase if something runs, he's shown he can be gentle and secure around children, and he's quite protective of them. Maui walks at his own pace and is generally a well-behaved companion.

Ideal Home

Maui would thrive in a home where he can continue to feel secure and loved. He has shown to be good with children and can be protective, so a family environment would be wonderful. While he has had a run-in with an outdoor cat (a common dog behavior), he's been calm with indoor cats.

Ongoing Health

Maui has completed his heartworm treatment and is now heartworm-free and totally healthy. He is neutered and up-to-date on all vaccinations.

Training & Support

Maui is generally well-behaved but has a natural instinct to chase if something runs. He does well on walks and doesn't pull unless there are outdoor cats around. He has shown to be good with indoor cats and children.
