About Blaze

Meet Blaze! This handsome fellow is a 4-1/2 year old neutered Boxer. Blaze was surrendered to us due to unfortunate circumstances, and while he came with his fur-sibling Mia (who has her own listing!), they do not have to be adopted together. Blaze can be a bit nervous in new situations and will need a patient family to help him adjust. He hasn't shown aggression here, but it will take time and understanding to help him feel fully comfortable in a new home. His previous owner mentioned that Blaze tends to do better with women and can act as a guard dog around unfamiliar men. We ask that you don't judge Blaze by his kennel presence, as he can be quite vocal! Once you get him outside, you'll meet a whole new dog – he's playful, happy, and loves to zoom around with glee. Blaze has lived with kids before and did well, but due to his nervousness and boisterous energy, we will not be adopting him to homes with small children. He is not good with cats and cannot go to a home with felines. Blaze does get along with other dogs, but he can be quite pushy and doesn't always respect their boundaries. He will not be a good fit for dogs who can't handle his behavior, so a meet-and-greet with any resident dogs is required before adoption. Blaze has started his vaccinations and is eager to find his forever family!

Ideal Home

Blaze needs a patient family to help him adjust to new situations. He previously did well with children, but due to his energetic and sometimes nervous nature, he should be supervised around any children until he is accustomed to them. We will not be adopting him to homes with small children to ensure safety. Blaze is not good with cats and cannot be placed in a home with felines. He gets along with other dogs but can be pushy, so he'll need a doggy sibling who can handle his behavior well.

Ongoing Health

Blaze has started his vaccinations.

Training & Support

Blaze can be nervous in new situations and may need time to warm up. While he hasn't shown aggression, he will need patience and consistent guidance to feel comfortable in his new environment. His previous owner noted he can act as a guard dog around unfamiliar men.
