Rye is a beautiful 16-month-old girl who had a rough start in life. She was rescued from a high-kill shelter, saving her from euthanasia. When she first arrived in foster care, Rye was understandably scared and untrusting of people, always on guard. She found solace and encouragement in the presence of other dogs, and through them, she's gradually learning that people can be kind. Rye is still a shy girl who needs time and patience to build trust. She's not one to rush into cuddles, preferring to show affection on her own terms. However, once she feels safe and bonds with you, she offers a quiet, loyal companionship that is incredibly rewarding.

Rye would thrive in a home with at least one other friendly, confident dog who can continue to guide her. She can also do well with children who understand the importance of giving her space and respecting her pace.
