About Eliot

Somewhere between the pages of a classic novel and the happiest little fairytale creature imaginable…there’s Eliot. If beloved authors spent less time writing about complicated human emotions and more time describing tiny fluffy girls with sparkling eyes, endless optimism, and hearts three sizes too big, Eliot would’ve been the star of every bestseller on the shelf. Eliot is the kind of puppy who makes people stop mid-sentence just to say, “Oh my gosh…look at her.” She has that rare happy-go-lucky spirit that feels impossible not to fall in love with.

Eliot is a 9 week old, 9lb female Great Pyrenees mix with a larger-than-life personality. Eliot’s story started in a place no puppy should ever have to call home: abandoned in a cemetery alongside her siblings, Brontë and Wilde. Yep…an actual cemetery. From there, the trio found themselves sitting in an overcrowded shelter where space had run out, but dogs kept pouring in. Before they were even old enough to understand the world, they found themselves on death row simply because there was nowhere left to put them. Thankfully, a foster family stepped forward just in time. But as if these babies hadn’t already been through enough, parvo struck shortly after rescue and all three puppies ended up hospitalized. But Eliot? Eliot marched into that battle with the determination of the main character in a bestselling novel. Her spirit refused to be dimmed. While her tiny body fought hard, her happy-go-lucky personality somehow stayed completely intact. She bounced back quickly, and now this little survivor spends her days bringing joy, laughter, puppy kisses, and endless smiles to her foster family. After everything she’s survived in just nine short weeks, we think Eliot deserves the kind of ending every good story should have…one where she never has to wonder if she’s loved again.

Eliot has never met a stranger in her entire life. In her mind, every person she encounters is either a long-lost best friend, a future cuddle source, or someone who clearly arrived specifically to admire her. Probably all three. Eliot is absolutely the life of the party and operates under the belief that every dog she meets is simply a future best friend who hasn’t realized it yet. Personal space? Never heard of her. Consent to wrestle? Merely a suggestion. Basically, if your dog’s idea of a perfect day involves wrestling matches, zoomies, dramatic play bows, and believes life is better with a friend…Eliot is about to become their soulmate. However…if your dog prefers a quiet lifestyle where nobody makes eye contact, touches them unnecessarily, breathes too loudly, or interrupts their sacred routine of snacks, naps, and silent judgment from across the room…Eliot may not be their dream roommate. Cats are currently an unsolved mystery in Eliot’s very dramatic little novel, so her thoughts on them remain unknown. She’s also spent time around kids ages 7 and 9 and handled it exactly how you’d expect from a puppy with the confidence of a motivational speaker.

Eliot operates at approximately a 7 out of 10 on the energy scale. She is absolutely an adventure seeker, although to be fair, Eliot could probably turn literally anything into an adventure. A walk through the yard? Incredible expedition. A pile of laundry? Mysterious mountain range. A leaf blowing across the patio? Clearly a quest that requires immediate investigation and at least three dramatic hops. She doesn’t necessarily need a grand lifestyle…she just brings the fun wherever she goes. Her overall temperament can best be described as “full-time joy dispenser.” Eliot is full of life, full of love, and approaches every day with the enthusiasm of someone who just discovered happiness was a competitive sport and she intends to win gold. She’s the kind of puppy who makes people laugh without even trying because she experiences the world with such wholehearted excitement. As for water, Eliot has experienced baths and currently seems undecided about them. She hasn’t fully committed to whether baths are a betrayal, a science experiment, or a weird spa treatment she didn’t consent to. At the moment, she mostly handles the experience by standing there dramatically while sharing many thoughtful opinions about the situation. And toys? Oh, absolutely. Eliot believes toys exist for celebrating life properly. Toss one her way and she’s immediately ready to play and pounce.

Training & Support

Now, while Eliot is busy being an adorable tiny ray of sunshine, it’s important to remember that beneath all the fluff and charm is still a very young puppy with lots of important things left to learn. Her future family will need to continue working on potty training, leash training, socialization, and all the basic puppy life skills that help turn tiny fluffy gremlins into wonderful adult dogs. Eliot is smart, eager, and very people-focused, but she is still a baby. She’s also at the perfect age for continued socialization so she can keep building confidence and learning about the world in positive ways. New people, new places, new experiences, and continued training will help shape her into the amazing adult dog she’s clearly meant to become. Basically, Eliot is not applying for the position of “perfectly trained adult dog.” She is applying for the role of “tiny fluffy best friend with enormous potential, endless love, and occasional "what did you do" puppy decisions.”
