Scrappy is a fun-loving pup with a big block head and an even bigger heart! He recently enjoyed a hike with volunteers, where he discovered a love for swimming. Scrappy also made friends at the WMPD building, charming everyone he met with his confident and happy personality. He adores humans, belly rubs, treats, and exploring new places.
This playful, goofy, and affectionate 1.5-year-old pittie mix is SO ready for a stable, loving life. He came to us after his devoted owner had to make the difficult decision to rehome him due to living in his car. Scrappy is a deeply loving dog who bonds closely and truly wants to belong. He is fantastic on leash, proudly carrying a toy on his walks and bringing smiles to everyone he meets. Scrappy lost his home once through no fault of his own; let's make sure his next home is forever.
Ideal Home
Scrappy needs to be your only pet and would do best in a home with children 12 years and older.
Ongoing Health
Scrappy is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm and Lyme testing, deworming, and flea/tick prevention. His adoption fee includes spay/neuter.
Training & Support
Scrappy seems to be unsure how to interact with other dogs, likely due to limited early socialization. While he may grow with consistent structure and training, he is happiest as the sole canine companion. We offer a free session with our trainer, Canine Cooperative, once an adoption is finalized.

Scrappy is located at the West Milford Animal Shelter Society in West Milford, NJ. Transportation arrangements can be discussed.
