Hi, I'm Moose! I'm 5 years old and have become exceptionally overqualified for the job of Best Friend. I came here from a shelter in California, and over the past several months, I've been busy growing my confidence, rediscovering my goofy, playful side, and learning that life is full of good things. Now all that's missing is someone to finally hire me for my forever position. My qualifications include being a professional hiking buddy who loves exploring the outdoors, an expert Netflix binge companion who's always happy to snuggle on the couch afterward, and an excellent office coworker if you work from home. I'm also a leash-walking pro with professional training, a certified cuddle expert, and I occasionally communicate through enthusiastic "awoos." I'm a smart, affectionate boy who loves treats (especially vegetable scraps!), learning new tricks, and spending time with my people. My energy level is right in the middle—I'm just as happy joining you for a long hike as I am relaxing by your side afterward.
Ideal Home
Moose would love an active home where he can be your hiking partner, work buddy, road-trip copilot, and biggest fan. He is looking for a home that understands the needs of Northern Breeds, which typically have higher exercise, training, and care requirements. While Moose is good with kids (with supervision) and enjoys playing with other dogs (slow introductions work best), he has not yet been tested with cats.
Ongoing Health
Moose is fully potty trained and wonderful on a leash, and he's even trained to use a nose loop.
Training & Support
Moose is still building confidence when left home alone in his crate and is making great progress every day. His trainer has generously offered to do a few transition sessions with his future family to help everyone start off on the right paw.
