Mickie is a sweet and intelligent Chihuahua mix who is approximately 2 years and 7 months old and weighs 18.7 lbs. He is very social and enjoys being around people and other dogs. While he may be a little reserved at first, once he feels comfortable, his affectionate nature shines through. Mickie loves to run, play, go for walks, and spend quality time with his humans. He is obedient, playful, and very loving, enjoying both giving and receiving affection. He gets along well with dogs, children, men, and women, making him a wonderful match for many types of families. Mickie is crate-trained for sleeping and does well with a routine. He is eager to bond, learn, and adapt, and will quickly become a loving and loyal member of his adoptive family.
Ideal Home
Mickie would thrive in an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard. He needs a home with a family that has the intention to truly rescue a dog, understanding the need for protection and education that comes with rescued animals. A family with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, would be ideal. High tolerance and patience for a rescued pup are essential, as Mickie is not house-trained.
Ongoing Health
Mickie has received a comprehensive health protocol including a Spay/Neuter Certificate, 2 DHPPI vaccines, Rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, microchipping, a 4DX Test and Certificate, a negative Heartworm test certificate, monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection, and a Health Certificate with a Vaccines booklet.
Training & Support
Mickie is not house-trained and will require patience and dedication to help him learn. He has a need for protection and education, and his new family should be prepared to provide this. It is recommended to have experience in dog behavior and training or be willing to hire a trainer to help this intelligent dog reach his full potential. Understanding that rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties due to past experiences is crucial, and he will need time to adapt to a new environment and people.
