Shane

Shane is a sweet boy who came to us when his owner passed away. He was understandably traumatized upon arrival, but with time and patience, he's really started to blossom! Shane enjoys a good massage and shows his gratitude with a happy tail wag. While he's not a big snuggler, he's very happy to be by your side and would make a great walking companion. He does have medium-length hair, so he will need regular grooming to stay comfortable and looking his best.

Shane has shown he can make doggy friends, as he's bonded with a chihuahua in his foster home and often mimics his pal's behavior. He's a bit on the hefty side, weighing in at 19 pounds, and we're working on getting him to a healthier weight of 12-15 pounds. He loves his walks and is a pro at Fiesta Island, even enjoying a dip in the bay!

This little man has come so far and is looking for a patient person who understands his needs and will give him the time he needs to adjust to a new environment. He'll bring plenty of loving wags and warmth to his new home.

Ideal Home

Shane would thrive in a home with a patient adopter who understands he needs time to adjust to new surroundings. He has bonded with a chihuahua and enjoys walks, even at the beach.

Ongoing Health

Shane is a tad overweight and is currently on a carefully managed diet to reach a healthy weight of 12-15 pounds.

Training & Support

Shane is house-trained. He's doing great and has learned to enjoy walks and even getting his paws wet at the beach.
