About Loki

Loki is a playful and adventurous 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued with his mother and littermates from the woods and has since grown up loved and cared for in a foster home. Loki is the brave and curious leader of his litter, always the first to explore and announce his presence with confidence. He's an expert climber and loves to play keep-away with his toys, often waking his siblings for playtime. While he's still energetic, he's also maturing into an incredible companion. Loki is potty trained, though a few accidents may happen as he adjusts to a new home. He can be a little hesitant with new experiences initially but quickly overcomes it. He loves food and will always find his way to the front of the line! Despite his antics, Loki has a sweet side and loves to cuddle after a day of play. He enjoys people and other dogs and brings joy wherever he goes. Loki has experience with crates and children but has not been tested with cats. He is working on his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn.

Ideal Home

Loki is looking for a family committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature. We prefer homes with another friendly, well-mannered dog to mentor him. If you don't have another dog, please share your plan for continued socialization. Because Loki is still young, we prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time.

Ongoing Health

No specific health conditions are mentioned in the listing.

Training & Support

Loki is potty trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building his confidence.
