Roxy

Meet Roxy! This beautiful 2-year-old, 47 lb mixed breed, likely with some Black Mouth Cur in her, has a gentle soul and a heart that's just waiting to feel safe. Roxy came to us with her buddies, Baby and Bear, and that's already told us something important: she gains confidence from being around other dogs. In new or overwhelming situations, she may hang back at first, but having a calm canine friend nearby helps her feel more secure and willing to engage.

Right now, Roxy is still adjusting. New people and environments can make her nervous, and she takes a little time to warm up. But she wants to connect! She'll take treats, and once she starts to feel comfortable, you can see that sweet personality beginning to peek through. Volunteers have noted that for how unsure she is, Roxy actually did pretty well on leash. She didn't shut down; she just needs time, patience, and a little confidence-building. With a consistent routine and a quieter home environment, we truly believe she will blossom.

Ideal Home

Roxy would likely do best in a calm home that can go at her pace. A confident resident dog could be a huge help in showing her the ropes and boosting her confidence. A foster or foster-to-adopt home would be especially wonderful to help her decompress and settle in.
