Meet Gingersnap! This spunky 4-year-old, 7.8 lb spayed female Chiweenie is a bundle of happy curiosity and overflowing with personality. She's made wonderful progress in foster care, learning that the world isn't so scary after all! Gingersnap is a routine queen who knows exactly when it's time for meals and treats, and she's also doing great with her house manners, preferring to go potty outside but capable of using a pad indoors. She is described as "hands-off" and prefers to retreat to her crate when approached, as she's still building trust with being handled and can snap if touched before she's ready. However, once she realizes she's safe and loved, her spunky personality truly shines! Gingersnap has all the potential to become a loyal companion for the right person.

Ideal Home

Gingersnap needs a patient and understanding adopter who will allow her to move at her own pace and build trust over time. A secure yard is required, and while she is good with dogs, she is very fearful and not socialized with humans. She will thrive with patience, kindness, and consistency.

Ongoing Health

Gingersnap is a spayed female and is up to date on her vaccinations. She was brought in slightly overweight but has since improved.

Training & Support

Gingersnap is mostly potty trained and understands to go outside, but may use a pad indoors if needed. She is still learning to be comfortable with being touched and may snap if approached too quickly. She will need continued patience and positive reinforcement to build trust.
