Training & Support

As with any dog transitioning to a new home, Nugget may need time and patience to adjust. We recommend following the "Rule of 3" to help her settle in:

• First 3 days: She might feel scared, tired, overexcited, or have a reduced appetite.
• First 3 weeks: She'll start learning her new routine and may show new behaviors. Keeping things calm and avoiding busy environments is key.
• First 3 months: She should feel much more settled and comfortable in her new home.

We also suggest learning about her breed mix to ensure it's a good fit for your family. Always be cautious when introducing dogs to cats, and it's advised that dogs are not fed together unless you know they don't guard food. Behavior observed in the shelter is a snapshot and may change once she's in a home environment.
