Meet Black Powder Kennel. Here at Black Powder Kennel, we are members in good standing with the Black Russian Terrier Club of America (BRTCA) and the American Chinese Crested Club (ACCC). We strive to better both the Black Russian Terrier & Chinese Crested breeds by utilizing proven methods of selection for Sire and Dam of every litter. We consider all aspects of standard, temperament and health as well as conformation. We are proud to be members of the AKC Bred with HEART program and Tessa is an AKC Breeder of Merit (for BRT's). All of our dogs have as wonderful temperaments as they are versatile. Black Powder Kennel has raised and bred numerous AKC Champions as well as achieved a variety of other titles. Tessa is one of the few American breeders to breed/co-breed a Best In Show winning BRT. We strive to produce litters that are consistent in conformation, health and temperament. We follow the breed standards as set forth by our breed’s parent club as well as the FCI standards. Our puppies are raised following the Puppy Culture protocol. We use the Volhard Puppy Aptitude test conducted by a 3rd party for each puppy.
