Meet Blink, a sweet and sensitive 1-year-old Lab mix who currently weighs about 40lbs. He's neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and current on all his preventatives. Blink is still very much a puppy at heart and continues to learn his manners as he grows into the wonderful dog he's meant to be. He loves to play hard and has that fun, bouncy energy you'd expect from a young pup. Blink reads other dogs' cues beautifully and enjoys canine friends, though he may bark first in excitement before inviting them to play. He would thrive in a home with another friendly dog to help show him the ropes. Around cats, Blink is friendly but mostly indifferent. He's been around children and has done well out of his crate, though he hasn't had much direct playtime with them yet. He has shown no signs of resource guarding or food aggression and shares nicely. He's also fully housebroken, which is a big win! While Blink enjoys playtime, he also loves to lounge and relax. When left alone, he's often happy to nap or entertain himself with toys. He is crate trained and can be crated for up to nine hours if needed, though he can also be left out unsupervised as he typically just settles in and rests. (Just be sure to tuck those shoes away as he sometimes borrows them!) Blink is still adjusting to life off the streets and can be very sensitive to the world around him. Walks are new and sometimes scary, and he needs lots of reassurance and occasionally even a lift home when he feels overwhelmed. He startles easily and may run to hide if he's unsure, so he does best when allowed to approach people on his own terms. Stairs are also a work in progress, and his adorable clumsiness just adds to his charm. Blink is independent but still learning that the world is a safe place. He'll need a patient, understanding adopter who can gently guide him through his fear-based anxiety and celebrate each small victory along the way. With kindness, consistency, and love, Blink is sure to blossom into a loyal, playful, and devoted companion. We are taking our best guess and recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed, and size when fully grown.
