About Mylo
Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Mylo is a goofy, affectionate, and curious guy who loves to play and explore. He has a classic Cattle Dog energy and thrives with daily activity, enjoys long walks, and loves a good romp in the yard. Mylo plays well with dogs of all sizes and is vocal when he plays or gets excited, but it’s just his way of communicating and not a sign of aggression. He’s friendly and well-mannered when meeting new dogs on walks. He has shown interest in chasing cats, so a feline-free home is best. Mylo has done well with children of various ages, and due to his occasional jumping and enthusiasm, a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog is recommended. He LOVES walks and can pull on leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader may help. He is fully house trained and thrives in a home where someone is around more often than not, or with a flexible schedule. Mylo prefers to eat separately to enjoy his snacks and treats. With his people, he’s playful, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate, greeting his foster family with enthusiastic hops and playful vocalizations. He is smart and responsive to redirection, loves praise, and wants to be a good boy. He benefits from routine and clear communication. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects, so a patient home that lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best.
Ideal Home
- A moderately active family with a yard or access to one where he can run, sniff, and sunbathe
- A few good walks a day or fetch sessions to burn energy and keep him happy
- A family who will give him tons of love, belly rubs, and attention
- People who embrace his quirky personality and celebrate his uniqueness
- A home with older kids (10+) and maybe a friendly dog buddy or two
Ongoing Health
Mylo has a tongue that is a little too long for his mouth, causing it to stick out. A vet has confirmed there’s nothing wrong with it, and it doesn’t cause him pain, but he may need a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage, which is not a cause for concern.
Training & Support
- Continued support with basic manners like jumping and treat-taking (he’s already working on it!)
- A patient home that understands his background and lets him settle in at his own pace.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
