Meet Gina! This sweet 1-year-old Belgian Malinois mix, weighing in at 56lbs, is ready to find her forever family. Gina had a rough start, found abandoned as a tiny puppy near a busy road, but her foster home has given her a second chance at life and love. She's a playful pup who enjoys tug-of-war with her canine companions and is working on her confidence around new dogs, especially larger ones, due to past negative experiences. Gina is eager for human attention and would thrive in an active environment with someone who can dedicate time to play and training. She has a delightful habit of collecting her toys and has mastered fetch, but she's also perfectly happy entertaining herself.
Ideal Home
Gina would do well with a family with older children (10 and up) who are dog-savvy, a couple, or an individual. An active home is a must, and she'd benefit from having another dog in the house to keep her company and help with her energy. A cat-free home is recommended, as she can be a bit too enthusiastic around neighborhood kitties.
Ongoing Health
Gina is a healthy young dog.
Training & Support
Gina is house and crate trained and can be crated for up to 8 hours. She walks well on a leash and shows no signs of separation anxiety. While she is learning to share, she prefers to eat her treats alone. As she's in her "puppy velociraptor" stage, she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys. Regular socialization, positive reinforcement training, and plenty of exercise and enrichment will be key to helping her grow into a well-mannered adult.
