About Max Sunshine Sidekick Satsuma
Max feels instantly familiar, like he already knows how to be your best friend and is just waiting for you to catch up. Happy, affectionate, and wonderfully goofy, he has that easy rhythm of dog-life and people-adoring down to an art. He welcomes everyone and, if they brought a dog with them, even better. Bouncy best friend energy, soft-hearted goofball, living each day like it might just be the best one yet. Max is estimated to be around 10 months old and currently weighs about 37 lbs. He appears to be a Vizsla Lab mix, though as always with rescue, breed and birthday are our best guess. What we can promise is that he is right in that sweet, slightly clumsy, very lovable adolescent phase where everything feels a little silly and a whole lot of fun. Max is a true people dog, the kind who happily greets everyone and then circles back for a little extra affection just to make sure you felt it. He likes to stay close, following along with whatever you are doing, content just to be part of it. He plays in that easy, happy way that never tips into chaos. Toys are a bonus, whether he is figuring them out, carrying them around, or turning them into a chew project. He enjoys games like fetch and tug, and he has lived with kids where he proved to be a fun, gentle playmate. He may pop up for a quick hello now and then, but it is all soft, excited energy and very typical for a young pup who is still learning. With other dogs, Max is polite and easygoing. He coexists beautifully with both small and large dogs and handles introductions with calm, respectful energy. He is not the center of attention in big dog groups, but in a home setting he is playful, bouncy, and sweet with his dog friends. Like any young dog, Max is still learning. He is doing well with potty and crate training, sleeps through the night, and can settle in his crate during the day after a brief protest about missing out on the fun. He is smart, curious, and eager to get things right. Leash walking is still coming together and sometimes he needs a little encouragement to get going, but he is willing and improves with consistency. He responds best to gentle, positive guidance and does not need a heavy hand. A little distraction here, a burst of zoomies there, maybe a curious nose checking the counter if something smells interesting. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a young dog figuring things out with a good heart and a lot of enthusiasm.
Ideal Home
Max would love a home that is ready for a growing puppy who thrives on connection. A yard would be nice, but what matters most to him is having people to follow, play with, and love. He will do best with daily activity, a bit of structure, and someone who enjoys the process of watching a good dog grow into a great one.
Ongoing Health
Max is up to date on all vetting, including DAPP with booster, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccine. He has received multiple broad-spectrum deworming treatments and is up to date on flea and heartworm prevention, including a 12-month injectable heartworm preventative. He has also tested negative for heartworm and was given a health certificate deeming him healthy for travel.
