Meet Nugget!
Nugget is a 10-month-old, 45-pound Elkhound/Shepherd mix who is fully vetted and house-trained. This sweet guy came from living outside in heartbreaking conditions. But thanks to us, Nugget is finally getting his chance. Understandably, Nugget is shy at first. The world is still a new and sometimes overwhelming place for him. But if you give him a little time, you'll see the soft tail wags, the curious glances, and the quiet moments where he leans in just a little closer. He wants to trust. He's learning how to be loved, and it's truly beautiful to watch him blossom more each day. Nugget has never experienced life inside a home before, so things like a crate can feel a bit scary at first. However, he's already learning that it's a safe space and is settling down more and more. He does great with other dogs and cats, and having a confident canine companion could really help him continue to come out of his shell. He may not come bounding up to you right away, but the love he has to give is deep, genuine, and worth every second of patience. Nugget is ready to discover what it means to finally be someone's dog.
Ideal Home
Nugget would do best in a calmer home, one without loud or unpredictable young children. Older, respectful kids would be just fine. A confident canine companion could also help him thrive.

Nugget is fully vetted and neutered.
Training & Support
Nugget is shy and needs a patient, confident leader who can gently guide him and show him the world isn't so scary. He is still learning about things like crates but is making progress.
