Godwin is a 5.5-year-old, 70-pound bundle of joy with a fascinating mix of breeds: 34% American Staffordshire Terrier, 28% Siberian Husky, 20% Labrador Retriever, 14% American Pit Bull Terrier, and a touch of 1% Boston Terrier, 1% French Bulldog, and 1% Boxer! We were surprised by his Husky heritage too, but the DNA doesn't lie! Godwin came to us from McKamey Animal Center and has been patiently waiting for his forever home since June 2024. He arrived underweight and tested positive for heartworms, but thanks to a wonderful foster family, he's now heartworm-free, at a healthy weight, and ready to find his perfect match. He's spent over 650 days in a shelter environment, dreaming of his own cozy spot.
Godwin may be a big guy, but he has the sweetest soul. He gets incredibly excited to see his favorite people, showering them with hugs and kisses. He's a fantastic co-pilot for car rides, happily relaxing in the back seat or gazing out the window. If you're looking for an adventure buddy, Godwin's your dog! He loves exploring on walks and hikes, and has discovered a newfound passion for swimming, often seen gleefully splashing in the creek with a big grin. Rope toys are his absolute favorite, whether he's playing tug-of-war or enjoying a game of fetch. He's also quite the smartypants and is eager to show off his training skills, especially when tasty treats like fish skins, chicken broth, or frozen pupsicles are involved!
Ideal Home
Godwin is seeking a loving family who will embrace his adventurous spirit and enjoy snuggle sessions after a long day. Because he has shown a prey drive for smaller animals, he would do best in a home with pets his own size.
Ongoing Health
Godwin has successfully completed his heartworm treatment and is now heartworm-free. He has also reached a healthy weight.
Training & Support
Godwin is a wiggly sweetheart with those he knows and forms an incredible bond with his chosen person. He enjoys attention from his familiar humans and is an excellent hiking partner and car rider.

- The adoption fee is $135.
- This fee includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up-to-date vaccinations, a heartworm test, heartworm preventative, dewormer, flea preventative, microchip, and spay or neuter.
Transportation
Godwin is currently located at our facility. We are open for meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only, Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
