Adonis entered Baldwin Park Shelter as a stray, and when he wasn't claimed during, we welcomed him as a Frosted Face on April 6th. He is estimated to be 14 years old, weighs 14.5 lbs., and so sweet and snuggly! Adonis went on a Frosted Fling that was extended while he recovered from having 16 unhealthy teeth removed during a dental. His little mouth feels so much better, and he is so ready to meet his forever family. Might that be you?
His foster mom shares:
"Sweet Adonis is affectionate and devoted to his people. He likes to know where you are and will happily follow you from room to room (if he's awake). He loves food, naps, snuggles, being held, other dogs, and short, leisurely walks where he can stop and sniff everything. He also loves sunbathing. He's easy to please.
Adonis is completely potty trained. He consistently walked to the door and looked at me when he needed to go outside and never had a single accident. He happily snoozed in a dog bed on the floor, often sleeping through the entire night without even stirring or changing positions. He eats every meal with enthusiasm (including spinning with excitement - you'll see!).
Adonis is surprisingly quiet in the house. During his stay, he never barked at people, noises outside, the doorbell, or knocks at the door. When left alone, he was most comfortable when given free roam of the house, and he relaxed quietly. Adonis did great with my dog, a somewhat timid 50-pound, 7-year-old who values her personal space. Adonis quickly recognized that she wasn't interested in becoming close friends and respectfully gave her space.
On walks, he was always interested in meeting other dogs. Occasionally his enthusiasm got the better of him and he'd pull toward them with too much excitement, but he was generally friendly and social. If he got too excited and pulled, I simply didn't allow him to say hello to that dog. He is not on any medication and has mobility of a much younger dog.
More than anything, Adonis strikes me as a dog who was clearly loved very much before he became a stray. He has wonderful house manners, an easygoing personality, and a natural comfort living in a home. It's impossible not to wonder how a dog this sweet ended up alone. He remains so affectionate and eager to love the people around him."
