Meet Dexter!
This handsome Anatolian Shepherd mix is just shy of a year old and already 57 pounds, but he's still growing into his giant paws and even bigger personality! Dexter may look dignified in photos, but he quickly reveals his true purpose in life: enthusiastically giving hugs to everyone he meets. He's athletic, curious, playful, and smart, moving through the world with full puppy enthusiasm and zero concern for personal space. Dexter can go from zooming around the yard to snuggling his beloved leopard print blankie in record time. One minute he looks like a majestic livestock guardian, the next he's acting like an oversized toddler who just wants to be included in everything. Despite his future giant-dog status, Dexter has an incredibly sweet and gentle heart. He's the perfect blend of goofy puppy chaos and future gentle giant, all long legs, giant hugs, and unconditional love.
Ideal Home
Dexter would thrive in a home where he can be included in all family activities. He does wonderfully with kids and dogs of all sizes.

Dexter is already housetrained, neutered, and fully vaccinated.
Training & Support
Dexter has boundless puppy energy and enthusiasm, so continued positive reinforcement and socialization will help him continue to be the wonderful dog he is.

- All pets are in a foster home in South Texas and are transported once adopted.
- Adoption Fee includes a microchip, all age-appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, current on recommended preventions and a ride on the next available transport to their new families' area.
- Applications are processed in the order they are received. S.T.A.R. Group is made up of volunteers, so please give us a couple of days to begin processing your application.
