Charlie is an energetic, fun-loving boy who was left at a shelter and ended up on the euthanasia list due to overcrowding. Thankfully, he was given a second chance and is now ready to find his forever home. He is a neutered Black Mouth Cur/Lab mix weighing about 85-90 pounds and is approximately 1½ years old. Charlie absolutely loves playing ball and will happily chase and return any ball for another throw. Tennis balls are his favorite, and he enjoys a good game of keep-away with them! He is smart and knows several commands, including heel, sit, come, stay, off, and gentle. He is still working on "down."
Ideal Home
Charlie would do best in a home with teenage children or adults, as his size and enthusiasm might accidentally knock over small children. He would thrive with an active single person, couple, or family who enjoys outdoor adventures and would make an excellent hiking or running partner. He prefers female dogs over males. Due to his high energy, a cat companion might be too much for him. He does not do well with ties outs or electric fences.
Ongoing Health
Charlie is up to date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Charlie is crate trained and fully potty trained. He knows several commands and is eager to learn, making him a great candidate for advanced training, agility, or even protection work.
