Ellie is a sweet and resilient girl who had a rough start but is now thriving and full of joy! She loves to snuggle under blankets, smiles constantly (even in her sleep!), and wiggles her whole body when she's happy to see you. Ellie enjoys a good romp in the grass followed by a cozy nap, and she sleeps soundly while her foster parents work. She has bursts of energy where she chases her toys and is very loyal, always waiting patiently for her food. Ellie is a quick learner, already mastering "sit," "shake," "stay," and "come," and she's well on her way with "down," especially with her food motivation! She absolutely adores people and is eager to learn more good behaviors in a one-on-one setting.
Ideal Home
Ellie would thrive in a home where she can be the center of attention and the only dog. She needs a quiet environment where she won't be exposed to other dogs, as she can be reactive on leash. She also gets a little nervous when her people leave, so a home that can provide a solid routine and reassurance would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Ellie has made a full recovery from a broken leg she sustained before coming to her foster home.
Training & Support
Ellie is fully potty trained and has great house manners, never touching anything that isn't hers. She is working on leash reactivity, particularly towards other dogs, and would benefit from continued positive reinforcement training to build her confidence. While she hasn't quite mastered "down" yet, her food motivation suggests she'll pick it up quickly. She is crate trained in a heavy-duty crate that she feels most comfortable in due to her past experiences. Ellie thrives with a solid routine, positive reinforcement, patience, and love.
