Meet Java!

Java is a 4-year-old German Shepherd with a big personality, a playful spirit, and a heart ready for her forever home. She's an active, intelligent girl who thrives on engagement and adventure--especially long walks! She loves to proudly carry a toy along for the ride. Java may greet new people with a loud bark, but she's a friendly girl who is especially fond of those who enjoy exploring the outdoors.

Ideal Home

Java will do best with an adopter who has experience with shepherds and understands the importance of both mental and physical enrichment. She is primarily seeking an only-dog home. If a home were to include another dog, they would need to be highly tolerant of her persistent desire for interaction, enjoy rough-and-tumble play, respect her hind-end sensitivity, and be similar in size.

Ongoing Health

Java came to us experiencing urinary incontinence. She is scheduled for a cystoscopy consultation to help determine the cause and guide her long-term treatment or management. Java is not constantly leaking, and her incontinence is not her fault. The rescue is committed to covering Java's veterinary care as they move forward.

Java is an intelligent girl who thrives on engagement. A patient, understanding home that will keep her mind engaged through training, enrichment, and regular exercise will help her succeed.

Transporation

Java is located at our shelter in North Carolina and can be transported to adoption events in the Northeast on our transport vehicle.
