About TEDDY

Teddy is approximately 3.5 years old and weighs 10 lbs. His DNA test shows him to be a mixture of Chihuahua, Yorkie, Bichon, and three other breeds. When he was rescued, he was in a matted condition, requiring him to be shaved down. His coat has since grown back beautifully, and he is a very handsome boy who will need regular grooming. Teddy also had mature cataracts in both eyes. Our optometrist performed successful cataract surgery on both eyes, and after a few months of eye medication for healing, he now has excellent vision.

Teddy loves to be a lap dog and eagerly climbs onto his foster's lap. He gets along with most other dogs, except for those who are very active and get in his face, which can make him unhappy. He can be a bit possessive of his food and does not like to share. For this reason, we feel he would do best as an only dog or with an older, quieter canine companion. He is fairly well house-trained, though not perfect. Teddy walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides. He is sure to be a wonderful companion for the right person.

Ideal Home

Teddy would do best in a home without children under 8 years old. He also needs experienced dog owners. He would be happiest as an only dog or with a quiet, older canine companion.

Ongoing Health

Teddy has undergone successful cataract surgery on both eyes and is now on eye medication to aid his healing. He will need regular grooming due to his coat.

Training & Support

Teddy can be snippy with his food and does not like to share. He is fairly well house-trained but may have occasional accidents. He walks well on a leash and enjoys car rides.
