Opie

Opie is a shy and scared boy who has been through a lot. He was lost for 44 days, surviving on his own, and is still working on gaining back his weight. He's now starting to wag his tail, "talk" to us, and the look of distress in his eyes has faded. Opie adores other dogs and would likely do well in a home with canine companions. He was found after being spotted on someone's street for a week, and it took a determined effort with rotisserie chicken over several hours to coax him to safety. After a week of being shut down and delirious, Opie is slowly but surely opening up and showing his sweet personality.

Ideal Home

Opie would thrive in a home that understands he is still recovering from a traumatic experience and will offer him patience and a gentle approach. A home with other dogs would be ideal for Opie.

Ongoing Health

Opie is still working on gaining weight after his time spent surviving outdoors.

Training & Support

Opie is shy and scared of new people, so he will need a patient adopter to help him build confidence and trust. He is slowly coming out of his shell and needs continued positive reinforcement.
