Maisie

Maisie may be a little shy at first, but with just a bit of patience, her gentle and loving personality truly shines. As she begins to feel safe, she’ll sweetly offer her paw for a polite "shake"—a quiet, heart-melting sign that you’ve earned her trust.

This affectionate girl adores tummy rubs and enjoys being brushed. She likes to play fetch, tug, and chase. Maisie has been kind and well-mannered around children so she is a great candidate for a meet and greet with younger family members!

At just over one year old, Maisie is past that young puppy phase and ready to form deep, meaningful bonds with her new family. She is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, and heartworm negative. All she needs is a family willing to give her a little time, some praise, a few treats, and a lot of love. In return, she’ll give you her whole heart. Could you be the one to help Maisie shine?

Volunteer Perspective: Maisie is a sweet girl who just needs a little time to warm up. When I first went to her kennel to walk her, she was hesitant and nervous. Rather than rush her, I sat in her kennel and talked to her quietly. After a few minutes, she placed her paw on my hand as if to say, "I trust you now."

Once we walked outside, her personality started to shine. Maisie absolutely loves praise and good head scratches, and gave gentle kisses to me and my 12 year old son. She startled once at a loud noise, but looked to us for comfort and soon got back to playing. She will be a wonderful companion with a little reassurance and affection.
