Meet Groot, also known as “Grootius Maximus”—a 3-year-old male Akita weighing 100+ pounds. He is a large working-breed dog and a gentle giant. Groot can be nervous when people approach too quickly, so he does best with people who take time to get to know him. He is bouncy and energetic with many people he has met at CCHS and is a Doggie Day Out candidate who has enjoyed field trips to local parks with volunteers.

Ideal Home

Groot needs a cat-free home. A family familiar with the Akita breed would be best, especially one that can advocate for him as he meets new people.

Ongoing Health

Groot is vaccinated and neutered.
