Mimi is a charming female American Staffordshire Terrier mix, approximately 5 years old and weighing around 38 lbs. She's a true survivor, having been rescued after being left behind in a house in Matamoros, Mexico. Despite a rough start, including being underweight and covered in ticks and fleas, Mimi's sweet spirit and love for people never wavered. Now, she's a happy, playful, and affectionate girl who adores human companionship and shares her joyful personality with everyone she meets. Mimi is social with other dogs and can live with cats if introductions are done properly and supervised. She's active, funny, and full of love, with a gentle, good-natured temperament. Mimi is always respectful and eager to please, and her gratitude shines through every day. Ideal Home

Mimi would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Ongoing Health

Mimi has undergone a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworm and received a 4DX test. She is up-to-date on monthly preventive protection for fleas, ticks, and heartworm with Nexgard Spectra. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are available. It is important to note that rescued pets may not be house-trained.

Training & Support

Mimi is not house-trained, and this is a significant consideration. Patience and understanding are crucial for all rescued dogs as they may have fears and anxieties from past experiences and need time to adapt. Providing a safe and loving environment, establishing a routine, and setting clear boundaries will help Mimi build trust and strengthen her bond with her new family.

Transportation

Mimi is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip if adopted. We offer door-to-door delivery through a partnered transport company. Scheduled trips occur 3-4 times a year with a minimum of 15-20 adoptions per trip. The transport fee is $400 USD. Regular updates, including photos and videos of your pet's journey, will be provided through a private Facebook Messenger group. The transport team will conduct a final home review upon delivery.
