About Bella

Bella is a sweet 10-year-old who acts much younger than her age! She's spent the last 8 years in a loving home but is now looking for a new family where someone is home more often. Bella is a highly trained girl who knows commands like sit, stay, down, wait, touch, come, place, and crate. She's also house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash. She's up-to-date on all her vetting and is in excellent health. Bella is wonderful with people and children, though she was a bit reserved around a baby once. The reason Bella is back with us is due to separation anxiety when left alone for extended periods. While medications have been tried, she may still bark when crated for too long. Her current foster has found a medication that helps for about 2-3 hours before she gets anxious. This means she needs a home where she won't be left alone for long stretches, especially in a townhouse setting where neighbor noise could be an issue.

Ideal Home

Bella would thrive in a home where someone is present most of the time. She has previously shown some reservation around very young babies.

Ongoing Health

Bella is up-to-date on vetting and has a clean bill of health. She has tried several medications for separation anxiety, and one has been found to help for a few hours at a time.

Training & Support

Bella is already very well-trained and knows many commands. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and a great leash walker. Her main challenge is separation anxiety when left alone for long periods. Her current foster is willing to provide ongoing support and even free boarding if you choose to foster or adopt Bella.
