Coffee

Coffee is a loving, intelligent, and playful male dog with a mix of Labrador and Creole heritage, approximately 1 year old and weighing around 30 lbs. He was rescued in March 2024 with his siblings, found in a field shortly after birth. Coffee is social with people, children, and other dogs, enjoying playtime, walks, and affection. While initially a little shy with new faces, he quickly warms up and melts into your arms. He's described as affectionate, docile, playful, and loyal, bringing joy and laughter. He is crate and leash trained and also dog and cat friendly.

Ideal Home

Coffee would thrive in a home with active families who enjoy outdoor activities and can provide him with a fenced backyard. Experience with dog behavior and training is highly valued, as is a high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies. Families should have an open conscience regarding the needs of rescued street animals.

Ongoing Health

Coffee has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, deworming, and microchipping. He has also had a 4DX test and a negative heartworm test. He receives monthly preventive protection with Nexgard Spectra for fleas, ticks, and heartworm, and comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

While Coffee is crate and leash trained, it's important to note that he is not yet house-trained. The rescue emphasizes that their rescued pets are "perfectly imperfect" and that the intensive work of rehabbing health and emotions makes house-training every animal impossible. Adopters should be prepared to continue his training and provide ongoing guidance.

Transportation

Coffee is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on the next cross-country trip. Transport to the adopter's home address is available for an additional fee.
