River was born at Clayton County Humane Society on February 6, 2022, along with his seven siblings and his mother, Kelly, who is also available for adoption. River and his brother, Jasper, also available for adoption, were briefly in a home but were returned after six months due to a lifestyle change. They have now been in shelter life for three years. River is a friendly boy who enjoys people and loves his outdoor adventures and scenic walks. He is very active and would be a great companion for someone who enjoys spending time outdoors. River would do well as an only dog, as he can be timid and shy. He may bark at children due to his timidity and need for quality time to blossom outside of the chaos of shelter living. River and Jasper deserve a chance at a loving home where they can decompress and build trust. They both have great dispositions and show their appreciation with a wagging tail, especially during treat time!
Ideal Home
River would thrive in a home with a large backyard where he can run and play. He would also do well as an only dog.
Ongoing Health
River has been completely vetted. This includes microchipping, neutering, all current vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heartworm testing, heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming. He is in good health and ready for his forever home.
Training & Support
River is timid and shy, especially around children, and may bark. He will need patience and quality one-on-one time to build trust and open up.
