Basil

Hi there! My name is Basil, and I'm a sweet, goofy girl estimated to be born in 2021. I'm a magnificent 100-pound Great Dane with a beautiful grey and brown spotted coat, dark brown eyes, and floppy ears. While I appreciate my kibble, my true culinary delight is hot dogs! My favorite pastime is napping, and I'm known to let out a little snore now and then. I love spending time with my humans and can even tap dance with excitement! My perfect day involves lounging around, napping in my cozy bed, preferably with my foster sister Miso. I'm not really into toys; I tend to get a bit anxious with them and prefer to hide them away. I've been working hard on my training and have learned some great tricks, including "leave it!"

Ideal Home

I thrive when I have my humans or canine companions nearby, as being alone can make me a bit anxious. I'm gentle and well-behaved around children, but due to my size, I might accidentally knock over very young ones, so a home with older children would be best. I would also do best in a home with another dog who can help me feel more confident.

Ongoing Health

My health is pretty good! I'm missing a few front teeth, but it doesn't bother me at all.

Training & Support

I get a little nervous when I have to be by myself, and my crate can be a source of anxiety. I'm making progress, especially when a hot dog is involved! I am house-trained and do not have any issues with pottying outside.
