Elmo is a 10-month-old Great Pyrenees mix with a heart of gold and a spirit as big as his paws! He came to us after a difficult experience, having been shot in the hip with a bullet that lodged near his spine. Thankfully, specialists have determined that the bullet is now encapsulated and safely in place, posing no risk to his health. This resilient pup is expected to live a long, happy, and full life without any limitations from his past. Elmo is a joyful dog who loves his walks, his people, and his furry friends. He's good with other dogs and has a special appreciation for a comfy dog bed where he can truly relax. He showed mild interest in cats, so dog-savvy feline friends would likely be a good fit.
Ideal Home
Elmo would do best in a home that understands he doesn't need to be an extreme athlete. While he enjoys his walks, he should avoid intense physical activities like leaping from heights or strenuous climbing for now. He would thrive in a home that appreciates his calm and loving nature. Elmo would do best with children over 10 years old or sturdy children who can understand his medical history and treat him gently, as he is not a pony.
Ongoing Health
Elmo has a bullet lodged near his spine that is encapsulated and does not require removal. He is otherwise healthy and comfortable.
Training & Support
Elmo is a young dog and will continue to grow into a large adult. He is already good with other dogs and people, but his interest in cats is mild. With a patient and loving family, he will continue to blossom.
