Josie Ella isn't your typical rescue dog, and that's exactly why someone out there is going to fall for her, hard. She might be a pittie mix, around 3.5 years old and weighing 60 lbs, but what truly makes Josie special lives much deeper than her gorgeous features. She's a peace bringer. Josie is quiet, observant, and guarded, a true slow bloom who is making incredible progress in learning that the world can be a kind place. While she may not be a cuddly dog yet, she tolerates affection calmly and will happily lay with you or cuddle on your legs. You adopt a dog like Josie because you believe in the quiet magic of trust being earned and find meaning in routine, gentle coexistence, and the "small wins"—a relaxed body, a soft glance, or a tail wag from across the room. She is a gentle soul who makes life feel calmer just by being there.
Ideal Home
Josie needs a home with at least one other confident dog, as other dogs are essential to her confidence. She follows their lead and melts seamlessly into the pack.
Ongoing Health
Josie is healthy and has no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
Josie is still learning to trust and seek affection. She is highly motivated by food and takes treats very gently. She is described as a "dog's dog" and is excellent with cats, completely ignoring them. While she won't initiate play until she trusts, once she does, it's game on!
