About Mylo
Meet Mylo – a 4-year-old, neutered, 44-pound Cattle Dog mix with a tongue that just can’t be tamed and a heart that’s even bigger. Mylo is a goofball with a permanently peeking tongue, a unique trait that’s been vet-checked and causes no pain, just a need for a little extra hydration. He also has a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage, adding to his one-of-a-kind charm. He's affectionate, silly, and curious, with the classic Cattle Dog energy that thrives with daily activity, long walks, and playtime. Mylo is a social butterfly with other dogs, playing well with pups of all sizes, though he can be vocal when excited, which is just his charming way of communicating. He enjoys meeting new dogs on walks and is friendly and well-mannered, despite his initial vocalizations. Mylo has shown some interest in chasing cats, so a feline-free home is recommended. He does well with children of various ages and is recommended for a home with older kids (10+) who are steady on their feet and understand how to interact with an active dog. Mylo loves walks and can pull on leash when excited, so a no-pull harness or Gentle Leader might be helpful. He is fully house-trained and has been trusted unsupervised. While not crated in his foster home, he has thrived with freedom and would likely do well in a home where someone is around more often than not or has a flexible schedule. Mylo prefers to eat his snacks and special treats separately but is playful, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate with his people, greeting them with enthusiastic hops and happy vocalizations. He's a smart boy, responsive to redirection, loves praise, and wants to be a good boy. Like many herding breeds, he thrives on routine, clear communication, and structure. He may occasionally flinch at quick movements or new objects, so a patient home that lets him settle in at his own pace will help him feel his best.
Ideal Home
Mylo is hoping for a moderately active family with a yard or access to one for running, sniffing, and sunbathing. He'd love a few good walks a day or fetch sessions to burn energy. He's looking for people who will give him tons of love, belly rubs, and attention, and who embrace his quirky personality. A home with older kids (10+) and perhaps a friendly dog buddy or two would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Mylo has a slightly long tongue that requires a little extra hydration and a slight protruding bone at the base of his rib cage. Neither of these are causes for concern.
Training & Support
Continued support with basic manners like jumping and treat-taking is recommended, though he is already working on it. Patience with his occasional flinching at quick movements or new objects will be beneficial.
