April is a 2-year-old Great Pyrenees mix, possibly with Anatolian Shepherd or another livestock guardian breed, who is ready to find the forever home she deserves. April's story is one of incredible resilience. She suffered a devastating injury to her back leg that led to a severe infection and ultimately amputation. Despite everything she endured, April has remained sweet, loving, and full of life. Today, she is a happy, healthy tripod who doesn't let having three legs slow her down. She is crate trained, leash trained, and potty trained. April enjoys walks, hikes, spending time outdoors, and relaxing with her people. She is a large girl with an even bigger heart and loves affection and attention from those she trusts. She is the kind of dog who is simply grateful for every day and every person who shows her kindness.
Ideal Home
April would do best in a home with respectful canine companions or as an only dog. We believe a cat-free home would be the best fit for her. As a livestock guardian breed mix, April will thrive with a family that understands and appreciates her breed traits. She would love a home with a securely fenced yard where she can stretch her legs, enjoy the outdoors, and be part of daily family life.
